HOW TO GET HERE In the Grandfather Ranger district between Lenoir, Blowing Rock and Grandfather Mountain. Google Map locator "link" at bottom of written directions.
From Charlotte or Greensboro:
From Hwy 321 and I-40 take Hwy 321 west for 18.1 miles[go thru Lenoir, last stop for grocery stores and Walmart] turn left on Hwy 90 West and North Main St [N Main is about a mile past the new Walmart and look for the Holiday Gas Station on Right hand side, turn left and you'll see a Valmead Vol fire dept, Hwy 90 will bear right just past the VFD but go straight on N Main] 2.5 miles go straight[N Main St will become Creekway Dr.] turn right on Abington RD [BP Station] go 6.5 miles and turn left on Hwy 90 stop sign]. Go .6 tenths of a mile turn left on Adako Road[BP Gas Station]. Go 4 miles turn right on Brown Mountain Beach Rd[Campground]. Go 9 miles [Rd turns to gravel] at a stop sign turn right on Hwy 90Betsy's Store. Go .5 tenths of a mile 3rd house on the right, 8205 NC Hwy 90[drive way on the right in a curve, rock by the entrance]
From Blowing Rock, NC Take Hwy. 321 South Take a right at the intersection of Cheek's Crossroads and Hwy. 268. Note you will turn right at the first caution light on the 4 lane portion of 321 South. Take a right onto Setzer Creek Road. Travel to the T intersection and turn right onto Hwy. 90. Travel to the first left on Adako Road just past the country store [Hoyle's BP Gas/Conv store in Collettsville] Follow 3 miles to Brown Mountain Beach Rd. Make Right. Follow Brown Mountain Beach Rd. for 9 miles to Hwy 90 take a right BML 3/4 mile up on the right. Approx. Travel Time 30 Minutes.
From Asheville, NC Take I-40 East. Exit off of I-40 at exit 100. Take a left at the top of ramp. Take a left at the fourth traffic light at the T intersection onto Hwy. 181 North. Travel approximately 8 miles and turn right onto Brown Mountain Beach Road which turns into Adako Road.[if you stay straight]At the State Bridge, make left on to Brown Mountain Beach Rd. for 9 miles to Hwy 90 intersection turn right BML 3/4 mile up on the right. Approx. Travel Time 90 Minutes

The last 9 miles up to the Lodge are gravel roads and here's a sign you'll see as you enter the Wilson Creek Gorge Wild and Scenic area. We have maps in the Brown Mountain Lodge for the shorter distance gravel roads as well as the paved roads.
